Retribution: God’s Righteous Judgment
What’s a Rooster Have to Do With It? This flies in the face of Jesus's teaching.

I was fortunate back in 1979. I read the New Testament before ever going to a church and came to the understanding right away that what the “Moral Majority” was promoting and teaching was opposite to what I was reading in scripture. Inserting yourself into someone else’s personal matters gets God involved in YOUR MATTERS and I knew I didn’t want that. You get what you give.
Involvement in issues of the world, are not our business as followers of Jesus. What is our business is that we serve the oppressed of the world in the name of Jesus.
Jesus turned down control of the world Satan rules when offered by the devil. This isn’t opinion, that is scripture. Don’t be deceived.
The “Seven Mountain Mandate” proposed by those claiming to be “Christian” is in opposition to the teachings of Jesus and serve as a means to discern wrong teaching that separates the wheat from the chaff, the goats from the lambs. Those standing with Jesus and those standing against Jesus. Scripture is the deciding factor. Those with hope of salvation running the race and those lost in the world and choosing to go against scripture telling Jesus His teachings are bogus, only they hold the truth.
In regards to retribution, following Jesus who said “turn the other cheek” makes me so thankful that I don’t hold hateful retribution in my heart. I am aware I can’t change the past. I choose not to think about unpleasant times in the past. I know people who are still offended from things that happened to them in childhood and it defines who they are today. Jesus is about forgiveness. That’s how you let go of things that can’t be changed that happened in your past. Forgiveness.
Retribution and reliving the offense to you over and over is poison to your soul. Suffering over the past is a choice. Today you have a new opportunity to choose forgiveness moving forward into the future and leave the past to the past.

The dictionary points to deserved punishment. Scripture reveals retribution as God’s righteous judgment, distinct from human vengeance.

2 Thessalonians 1:6–7 — “God considers it just to repay with affliction those who afflict you…”
Romans 2:6 — “He will render to each one according to his works.”
Revelation 22:12 — “Behold, I am coming soon, bringing my recompense with me…”
Psalm 62:12 — “To you, O Lord, belongs steadfast love. For you will render to a man according to his work.”
Red Flags of Warning (revealing the danger of false retribution)
Matthew 7:2 — “With the measure you use it will be measured to you.”
Isaiah 13:11 — “I will punish the world for its evil, and the wicked for their iniquity.”
Jeremiah 17:10 — “I the Lord search the heart and test the mind, to give every man according to his ways.”

What are the ways you are following and reinforcing as “truth”? Are they correct? It matters to your salvation. Not all who call His name are saved according to Jesus Himself.
